Job Title: Senior Software Engineer – Embedded

  • Salary Range: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience

  • Reports to: Principal Engineer

  • Location: Cambridge (UK)

  • Job Type: Full-time | Permanent

 

Sphere Fluidics Limited is an established Life Sciences company, developing new instrumentation systems for the biopharma industry. We are an exciting and evolving company, and due to ambitious company growth, we are looking for talented individuals to join our Physics and Engineering team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Digital image processing for real-time and Windows based applications
• Convolutional Neural Network design and development
• Image dataset creation and management
• Windows and real-time application development
• Development and maintenance of design documentation
• Delivering projects to specification and within agreed timescales and budget

The successful candidate will work in a multi-disciplinary team and should be enthusiastic with excellent team-working and communication skills. They will be flexible and self-motivated with a desire to deliver the team’s objectives whatever the challenge.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• A degree level qualification in Science, Engineering or Mathematics
• Proficiency in software development using C++
• Expertise in image processing and convolutional neural networks
• An appreciation of coding patterns and object orientated design

It would also be helpful to have experience in:

• Software development for embedded platforms
• OpenCV
• NVIDIA JetPack
• Medical devices or an equivalent regulated industry

• Self-motivation with a drive towards continual personal and technical improvement
• Strong organisational ability, with an eye for detail
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
