Title: Regional Account Manager (RAM)

Location: U.S. Central (States West of the Mississippi, through to Intermountain West)  

Salary range: Competitive base plus ICP, variable benefits & company equity

Leveraging our picodroplet microfluidic technology, we offer high-throughput solutions for single cell isolation and analysis across various applications, including biologics discovery, cell engineering, and synthetic biology. The Role: 

In this exciting position, you will play a pivotal role in driving sales growth within the territory. Working closely with the Field Application Scientists, ISR’s and Marketing, you will leverage your strong technical background and consultative sales experience to establish relationships with new and existing clients in the life science sector (BioPharma, Biotech, CRO/CDMOs, etc), with a focus on Single Cell and Proteomic applications within the areas of Cell Line Development, Antibody Discovery, Bioprocessing, Cell & Gene Therapy, and more. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve assigned quarterly and annual territory targets for capital equipment and consumables. 
  • Drive the entire sales cycle, from initial customer engagement to closed sales, including managing pilot projects where applicable. 
  • Prospect for new clients through various methods, including direct outreach, networking, and collaborating with internal teams – ISR, FAS, FSE and Marketing. 
  • Qualify leads against established criteria and engagement levels to ensure accurate forecasting. 
  • Deliver impactful presentations to key decision-makers, effectively communicating the value proposition of Sphere Fluidics’ technologies. 
  • Work collaboratively with technical support and product specialists to address customer needs. 
  • Develop and maintain territory and key account plans, outlining strategies for continually achieving sales objectives. 
  • Maintain meticulous CRM data to effectively map customer accounts and their buying processes, including detailed notes on customer interactions and sales pipeline management. 
  • Develop and maintain accurate and reliable quarterly forecasts for both instrument and consumable revenue streams. 
  • Maintain a high level of relevant domain knowledge in order to act as a trusted partner for our customers. 
  • Provide valuable insights to the commercial team on market trends, competitor activity, and opportunities to enhance sales strategies, brand reputation and reduce sales cycles. 
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop effective sales tools and resources. 
  • Travel throughout the territory (45-65%) to meet with potential and existing clients and attend industry events. 
  • Be a powerful evangelist for the company, brand, technology, products, and customers. 
  • Conduct all sales activities with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity. 

 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, disciplined, and results-oriented sales professional with a passion for exceeding expectations.  
  • Minimum of 5 years technical or scientific capital equipment sales experience, ideally within the Biopharma, Bioprocess, CRO/CDMO space. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Biochemistry or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred). 
  • Proven track record of success in achieving sales targets, growing key accounts, and networking at all levels of the customer organization. 
  • Strong technical background in Single Cell Proteomics, Cell Line Development (a plus) or related fields, able to demonstrate knowledge of current trends and advancements. 
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to connect with audiences of varying technical backgrounds. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills both internally and externally. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
