SPEAKER PRESENTATION DETAILS

Presentation is 20-minutes with an additional 5-minutes for Q&A at the end.

Ultra-miniaturized droplet microfluidics provides a powerful approach to enable efficient discovery and scale up of biologics. In this talk, we will introduce the underlying approach and show how this has been integrated into a complete automated system for everyday use in the translational research process. We will also share details on the upcoming launch of our new system, Cyto-Mine Chroma, which enables multiplexed analysis of millions of cells per hour. We will give examples of the Cyto-Mine in action and highlight compelling new functionality and techniques to extend its application.

SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY

Frank Gesellchen holds a PhD in Biology from the University of Heidelberg, Germany. As a postdoctoral researcher in Germany and the UK he investigated cyclic AMP signaling pathways before joining a multidisciplinary team at the University of Glasgow focusing on the development of lab-on-chip devices.

Frank joined Sphere Fluidics’ Cell & Molecular Biology group in 2015 where he became part of the team that developed Sphere Fluidics’ Cyto-Mine® single cell analysis platform. He led multiple internal, customer- and grant-funded projects advancing the company’s technology. Since 2023, Frank has been heading the Assay Development Team, providing novel assays for Sphere Fluidics’ single cell analysis platforms.
