Production Coordinator

Functional Area: Operations
Salary Range: £32,000 – £37,000 per annum
Location: Cambridge UK – Onsite/office based
Reports to: Head of Manufacturing
Job Type: Full Time / Permanent

Role Purpose 

The Production Coordinator is part of the team responsible for producing our leading-edge research consumables. Working with standard operating procedures and to the very highest quality standards, the role will oversee a continuous flow of materials to meet the demand of our customers and our internal teams. The role is based at our brand new global headquarters in Cambridge where the labs have been custom designed to meet our needs. 

This team-based role requires the individual to manage their time effectively whilst being flexible to adapt to changing priorities in order to fulfil customer needs. Working alongside other teams is also important when integrating process improvements or working on collaborative projects.

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Deliver manufacturing output of chemical and biological reagents at the required quality standard to meet planned demand. 
  • Ensure appropriate SOPs and work instructions are in place and strictly followed for all processes. 
  • Manage and organise raw material stock to ensure sufficient holdings. 
  • Ensure supporting documentation and production logs are up to date and accurate. 
  • Assist with customer projects to troubleshoot issues or develop new product solutions. 
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate safety procedures in collaboration with the H&S team. 
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and remove waste or unnecessary steps. 
  • Take pride in managing a clean, tidy, and well-organised manufacturing area. 
  • Contribute to the wider Operations group with ad-hoc tasks and projects.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

  • Minimum A level education within a scientific discipline. 
  • 2/3 years’ experience in a laboratory environment. 
  • Confident presenting KPIs and other updates at weekly team meetings. 
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are essential. 
  • ISO9001 experience preferred, GLP/GMP also advantageous. 
  • Experience in manufacturing of chemical and/or biological products would be an advantage.
