Senior Global Product Manager - USA

The Role 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Global Product Manager to manage the product lifecycle for Sphere’s single cell analysis platforms.  You will take an established platform to new heights by leading the launch of a new instrument with enhanced capabilities that dramatically expand the application space and drive the introduction of cutting-edge new platforms to the market.  The role will have significant input into upstream marketing (user needs, use cases, applications, etc.) as well as downstream marketing (new product introduction, go-to-market planning/execution, etc).

This is an excellent opportunity to be on the forefront of single cell analysis and to market an industry leading portfolio of products with a lot of untapped potential.

Duties and Responsibilities 

Product Development:

  • As part of the commercial team, work across the organization and directly with customers to bring the voice of customer and voice of field into product development efforts
  • Create business cases articulating the commercial prospects of new products/applications
  • Develop User Needs and Requirements based on comprehensive primary and secondary market research that translate into Product Requirements
  • Provide leadership in defining the roadmap of new applications for Sphere’s instrument platforms
  • Work closely with R&D and external collaborators to generate data sets for use in marketing materials

Product Commercialization:

  • Work with marketing and sales teams to lead definition of target segments for the platform and articulate positioning/messaging
  • Development of competitive positioning, battlecards, sales tools, training materials and campaigns
  • Partner with Support and R&D on post-launch sustaining and product lifecycle management
  • Work with KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders) and early adopters to demonstrate successful use cases to the market

Support Strategic and Tactical Decision Making:

  • Maintain up-to-date view of the market and competitive environment
  • Evaluate strategic alternatives for expanding business footprint
  • Assess product line funnel and sales trends to provide actionable insights to management to achieve sales targets
  • Establish close relationships with key customers, thought leaders, and industry influencers to stay abreast of emerging market trends and regulatory guidance
  • Support in preparing commercial reports, presentations or other materials as and when required
  • Help in the annual budgeting and planning process

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

  • Must have at least 5+ years of industry experience in Product Management for Life Sciences capital equipment
  • Must have strong experience in both pre- and post-launch, for a major product line(s)
  • At least Bachelor’s degree required
  • Strong communication skills and ability to translate information between R&D, Marketing, Sales, and Customers
  • Demonstrated experience writing user needs and requirements for life science tools instrumentation
  • Demonstrated experience guiding decision making on a roadmap of new applications for life sciences tools instruments
  • Must have demonstrated effective collaboration in matrixed or highly cross-functional business settings
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully launching new products and applications is strongly preferred
  • Technical knowledge of single cell analysis technologies, proteomics, cell based assays, highly preferred
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 25-50% of time
